Smart Business Wednesday: Business Leaders for Higher Taxes, More Spending & Vermont's New Economy Conference

Nikhil Arora, co-founder of Back to the Roots, a business doing urban mushroom farming and selling home mushroom kits, plus diversifying into aquaponics systems that clean aquarium water and turn it into plant food. Arora represented the American Sustainable Business Council in a meeting at the White House with Joe Biden and Barack Obama last week, and he argued for higher tax rates on the wealthy and the continuation of government programs that have helped his and other businesses get off the ground.

Gwen Hallsmith, author of Creating Wealth: Growing Local Economies with Local Currencies, on the Vermont's New Economy conference in Montpelier this Friday, Dec. 7.
